Custom Art Commission & Design
Collaborate with client, artists, and interior design team to reimagine Beaulieu Vineyard's hospitality center within the restored historic 1885 stone winery. The design thoughtfully balances the property's rich heritage with contemporary elegance, pairing contemporary art with heritage artifacts to create a layered narrative that honors the winery's history while welcoming a new generation of visitors.

Artifact Wall & Brass Sculpture
Working collaboratively with the winery team, archivist, and artists at Made for a Museum, we developed a timeline history wall that transforms the winery’s legacy into an immersive visual narrative. Archival photographs, artifacts, and historic materials were thoughtfully researched, selected, and organized to tell the story of the property and its evolution over time.
The centerpiece is a hand-embossed brass grapevine sculpture, created specifically for the installation from Cabernet Sauvignon leaves collected at Beaulieu Vineyard. The artist, Kirk Maxson, translated the natural structure and intricate veins of the leaves into metal, creating a sculptural interpretation that connects the physical landscape to the winery’s history. The result is a layered installation that honors the client’s heritage while bringing together archival storytelling, contemporary craft, and a tangible connection to place.ct.

Custom Tapestry
In response to the client’s expressed design desire, we commissioned tapestry artist Alex Friedman to create a large-scale woven artwork inspired by an aerial photograph of the surrounding Beaulieu Vineyards. The artwork translates the rhythmic geometry of vineyard rows into an abstracted textile composition, capturing the expansive landscape through pattern, texture, and color.
The art direction was carefully developed in response to the newly remodeled hospitatlity center led by the BAMO interior design team. With special attention to ensure the tapestry’s seleted palette would complement and enrich the finishes, furnishings, and materiality of the space. By translating a defining element of the property’s landscape into a tactile, contemporary work of art, the piece creates a visual connection between the interior and the vineyard beyond—bringing the history, character, and sense of place into the guest experience.
